About Elgin Country Club

Our mission is to provide a superior golf and social experience that enriches the lives of our Members, their families and guests.

Early in 1901, 32 men met in a downtown Elgin office to lease an 80 acre tract of the Weld Farm and founded Elgin Country Club. The property was situated on dramatic terrain carved by receding glaciers 25,000 years ago. Using a design developed by Tom Bendelow, in July of that year a 2,936 yard, Par 36 9-hole layout opened for play.
