Elgin Country Club welcomes its guests, offering superior golf and social experiences for the entire family just outside downtown Chicago.
- Dress code
The following are the guidelines that have been established to enhance the Elgin Country Club experience for our Members and Guests.Appropriate Golf Attire is required on the Golf Course, Practice Center and Putting Green and permitted in all areas of the Club unless otherwise specified for a special event.
Appropriate Golf Attire Includes
- Slacks
- Bermuda-style shorts
- Golf shirts with collars or a mock turtleneck
- Women’s golf short
- Women’s golf skirts
- Women’s golf shirts
- Hats & Visors with the bill facing forward
Inappropriate Golf Attire Includes
- Cargo shorts
- Cargo pants
- Camouflage pants
- Denim clothing (including dress jeans)
- Tank tops
- Halter tops
- T-shirts
- Cut offs
- Swimwear
- Sweat suits
- Collarless razorback tops
- Navel baring tops
- Spandex
- Running shorts
- Sleeveless shirts for men
Please Note
Cargo shorts and pants as well as denim, provided it is free of cuts tears and frayed edges, are welcome in all areas of the Club other than the golf course, practice center, putting green and while dining in the formal section of the Main Dining Room. We do however welcome Members and guests wearing cargo shorts or pants as well as denim, provided it is free of cuts tears and frayed edges, in the Main Dining Room on Sunday evenings.
- Golf Practice Center
Guests are welcome to use the Practice Center to warm up or prior to play. Complimentary golf balls are available at each hitting station.
- Pace of Play
We strive to complete all rounds of golf in four hours. Please keep pace with the group in front of you and play without undue delay.
- Cell Phones
To preserve the dignity of the Club, and out of respect for members and their guests, cell phones should be set to vibrate. On the golf course and practice areas, please be courteous and use your mobile phone discretely.

Complementary Wi-Fi is available throughout the Clubhouse. Password is "elginwifi"
