Doug became our General Manager and COO in 2016. He is a Certified General Manager and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, beginning his hospitality industry career as an Executive Chef. Previously, Doug was GM/COO for three years at Ravinia Green Country Club, GM/COO for three years at St. Charles Country Club, and GM/COO for more than ten years at the prestigious Glen View Club in Golf, IL. In addition, Doug has served on the Board of Directors of The Club Managers Association of America (CMAA); served as CMAA Education Chair; has participated in the Chaine des Rotisseurs, an association honoring gastronomic enthusiasts; and has received club industry achievement awards including the 2001 Club Leaders Forum “Top Gun Award”. Doug has three children and resides in Elgin.

Jon has been our Head Professional since 2010 and also served as the First Assistant for five years. He completed his internship to obtain Professional Golf Management certification at Elgin in 2004. He is a graduate of the Professional Golf Management Program at Coastal Carolina University graduating with a bachelors’ degree in marketing. Jon was born and raised in Elgin, IL, and is a graduate of Larkin High School. Jon currently resides in Algonquin with his wife Erica and children Ben, Averie, and Trevor. Throughout his career, he has won numerous Illinois PGA section events and in 2013 competed in the Club Professional National tournament that serves as a qualifier for the PGA Championship, and on September 19, 2020, he earned his 1st Illinois PGA Major Championship. His teaching philosophy is to create a golf game that fits and exceeds your own expectations. We are honored to have such an amazing golf professional on our team.

Matt Wojciechowski has been Assistant Golf Professional at our Club since 2006. He is also responsible for managing our Caddy program and coordinating golf events and outings. Matt has worked in golf operations for more than 16 years with experience at public, private, and resort courses in Illinois, Iowa, and Florida. He recently purchased his first home in the Elgin area.

Golf Course Superintendent

Phil has served as our Golf Course Superintendent since 2001. Prior to coming to Elgin, he was superintendent at Kishwaukee Country Club in DeKalb, The Oak Club in Genoa, and Cherokee Country Club in Madison, WI. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1985 with a degree in Soil Science and Agribusiness. He is a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and has served on its Board of Directors. Phil is married with three children.

Chef Jamie comes to us with an extensive culinary background. He is a graduate of Joliet Junior College’s Culinary Arts Program. His résumé includes working as the Executive Chef at Cedar Rapids Country Club in Iowa, Olde Main Brewing Company in Ames, Iowa, and most recently Hotel Baker in St. Charles. Chef Jamie is a very talented chef receiving awards and recognition for menu development, recipes, sanitation, and even medals in the ACF Iowa Chapter Culinary Competition. We are thrilled to have such a talented and accomplished chef on our team! We hope you will stop out and indulge in some of his culinary creations!

Christine has been our Catering Director since 2002. Previously she was Director of Membership and Marketing from 1999 to 2002. In 2016 she completed Wedding Planner certification. Prior to coming to Elgin she was Banquet Manager at Rolling Knolls Country Club. Christine is a lifelong resident of Elgin. She attended Elgin Community College for accounting and banking. Christine is married, has one daughter and a grandson.

Veronica Galvan joined our team in
October of 2021 as a server, soon after being promoted to our Supervisor of the
Snack Shop and now our Dining Room Manager. Veronica has spent many years in
the Foodservice industry, learning and executing the art of meal preparation
and food safety. Her previous experience of 10 years in the kitchen as a
Manager for Caputo's has shaped her well. Veronica is a mother of
two and grandmother. We look forward to many more years of excellence!

Joe has been our Membership Director since 2015. Previously he was our Assistant Golf
Professional. Prior to coming to Elgin, Joe worked at Medinah Country Club. He began his golf career in 2003 at Estancia Club in Arizona. Joe graduated from St. Edward H.S. in Elgin and attended Columbia College in Chicago. Joe resides in Bartlett with his 10 year old twin daughters.

Larry has been our Controller since 2002. Previously he was Controller at Naperville Country Club, Biltmore Country Club, and Assistant Controller at Medinah Country Club. While attending high school, Elgin Community College, and Illinois State University he caddied and worked in the pro shop at Medinah Country Club. Larry has consulted for more than thirty private clubs. He is a member of the Club Accountants Association of America where he has served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer and Membership Director. Larry and his wife reside in Crystal Lake and have two children.

Christie has been in hospitality management for 18 years, working for corporations that have brought her to Chicago, South Florida, and California. She has extensive and diverse experience in the event planning industry, enjoying all facets of the hospitality world; from fine dining restaurants, country clubs, specialty venues, and independent planning, specializing in weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs. She is originally from the Midwest Suburbs; grew up in Roselle, attended Lake Park High School and started studying business management at Harper College. She currently resides in Lake in the Hills with her husband of 10 years and their two daughters.

Mihaela is originally from Romania, married for 7 years, has three kids: a son in the Navy and twins (boy/girl) in high school. She is fluent in English, Romanian and Spanish. Mihaela currently resides in Elgin Township with her loving family.

Jim has been in the sales and customer service industry for 15+ years. Before coming to Elgin Country Club, Jim worked in the accounting and purchasing industry. Jim has lived in Elgin since 1990 with his beloved, Lucy, for 19 years, and they have a 12-year-old son, Roman. They live an active life with Jim’s love for golf while supporting their son with his baseball and basketball schedule, hoping he’ll also aspire to pick up the game of golf! We are excited to have Jim join our team and look forward to many fun years together here at the Club!

Jillian Wilson, our new pool manager, brings extensive swimming experience and a passion for the sport. Starting her journey at age five on a neighborhood swim team, she went on to achieve a 3x All-American title in high school and competed for the University of Illinois Swimming & Diving Team. Despite retiring from competitive swimming due to medical reasons, Jillian remains committed to sharing her knowledge by teaching swim lessons and coaching. Now entering her fourth summer at the Elgin Country Club, she is excited to take on her new role, eager to develop swimmers and enhance the pool experience for members and guests. With her background and enthusiasm, Jillian is set to make a significant impact, ensuring a memorable and enjoyable swimming season for all.
